LIVING IN A TERRIBLY FALSE WORLD

“You,” he said, “are a terribly real thing in a terribly false world, and that, I believe, is why you are in so much pain.” – Emilie Autumn

The falsehood in the world can sometimes get you down but if you’re feeling that way it’s probably because you are a genuine person.

Knowing that you are genuine should provide you with satisfaction and peace. For how hard must it be to continuously hold up a false image of yourself, how malnourished and weak must those individuals be inside?

Genuine people are full of inner strength. They speak the truth, cutting through the bullshit that people get so wrapped up in all the time. They care about other people, willing to actually take on responsibility in a world of cheap and fake actors. They speak with conviction and actually believe what they are saying.

Of course, they aren’t perfect, no one is, but they damn well have the integrity to admit when they are wrong, even in the face of those who are too insecure to expose their own weaknesses. Genuine people are far superior to the disingenuous. They may be circumstantially or temporarily hindered but in the long run, those who are genuine will win out because truth is on their side, and the truth will breed out the weakness from human existence.
